Kyrgyz president to visit Uzbekistan

President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov will visit Uzbekistan, the Information Policy Department of the President's Office reported on December 11. Export, import of currency simplified in Uzbekistan

The procedure for compulsory declaration of foreign currency by individuals for import to Uzbekistan and export from the country within the amount equal to or not exceeding the equivalent of $2,000 will be canceled from January 1, 2018. This change is reflected in the decree of the President of Uzbekistan “On measures to further simplify the procedure for the import and export of cash foreign currency by individuals”. The decree further said that "export by individuals of cash foreign currency outside the Republic of Uzbekistan is carried out without any permits within the amount equal to or not exceeding the equivalent of $5,000”. |read|

EBRD to sign new projects in Uzbekistan

EBRD First Vice President Phil Bennett will visit Uzbekistan to sign the Bank’s first new projects since 2010, in banking, agribusiness and pharmaceuticals. In Tashkent, Bennett will meet Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other senior officials and speak at the International Conference on Security and Sustainable Development in Central Asia, the Bank reported. WB brings global audit experience to Uzbekistan

In late October, Tashkent hosted a three-day plenary meeting of the Internal Audit Community of Practice of the Public Expenditure Management Peer Assisted Learning network (PEMPAL), the Uzbek Finance Ministry said. The international event was organized by the World Bank (WB) and the Uzbek Finance Ministry.
