On 5 February, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting on priorities for reforming the system of foreign economic activity. In his recent Address to the Oliy Majlis, the Head of the state noted the need for improving the control system and infrastructure in foreign trade, in particular, reforming based on foreiexperience of the activities of customs, sanitary, quarantine, veterinary and other services that carry out control activities at customs posts. This year Uzbekistan will buy by 165% more agromachineries to the last year, the chairman of Uzagrotechsanoatholding, Nodir Otajonov said at the next session of the International Press Club in Tashken’st Congress Hall. Our main goal this year is to bring the share of modern agromachineries to 45% in the agricultural sector, he said. US plans to allocate $1 million to Uzbekistan to develop laws on capital market

The government of Uzbekistan plans to unify the legal framework in the field of the capital market within the framework of the Capital Market Development Strategy for 2020-2025. The United States intends to assist the Agency for the Development of the Capital Market of Uzbekistan in reforming the legal framework of the capital market. For this purpose, at the first stage it is planned to allocate $1 million, US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo said during his visit to Uzbekistan. |read|

Ministry of Energy announces call for bids for Surkhandarya PV plant

The Ministry of Energy announced the launch of the first pilot project to build a photovoltaic plant in Surkhandarya’s Sherabad district with the support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Ministry of Energy said in a statement. The plant will reportedly have a capacity of at least 200 MW. In addition, a new 220 kV substation and a 52 km transmission line will be built to connect to the 220 kV Surkhan substation. |read|
