The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Uzbekistan Signs Agriculture Agreement with UN

The government of Uzbekistan has signed a country programming framework agreement for 2014 to 2017 together with the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), its Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia stated, according to Azernews.

The program includes technical support from FAO to Uzbekistan so it can diversify its crops, enhance the health of its livestock and improve production.  It also entails boosting locust control, expanding fish production and managing natural resources sustainably.

Uzbek Agriculture and Water Resources Minister, Shuhrat Teshaev and FAO Representative for Uzbekistan, Yuriko Shoji signed the document.
