The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

Uzbek President receives US ambassador

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov received US Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Uzbekistan George Krol completing his mission in the country, the presidential press-service said.

President Karimov stressed the positive dynamics of the Uzbek-US relations in all spheres of mutual interest. The president appreciated Krol's personal contribution to the consistent strengthening of Uzbekistan-US cooperation.

The US diplomat said that during his activity in Uzbekistan, he witnessed important political events, effective reforms in the economy, social and other areas. Of course, the country is among popular and promising partners in the international arena.

The sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.

Krol has been the head of the US diplomatic mission in Tashkent since June 2011. Previously, he served as US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia. Krol will be appointed US Ambassador to Kazakhstan.
