The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

ICD extends $10m Murabah facility to develop Uzbekistan health sector

An opening ceremony of a unique multi-disciplinary medical center, Vitamed Medical Center, was held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan recently. 

The Islamic Corporation for the Development of the Private Sector (ICD) extended a $10 million Murabaha Facility for the financing of medical equipment, furniture and fixtures required for the operations. The project contributed towards the development of the health care sector in Uzbekistan, including the diagnostic consultation services and latest medical equipment.

At present, Vitamed Medical is the only center in the country collaborating with foreign industry experts, in particular with Medanta Clinic of India.  The world-class heart surgeon, Naresh Trehan, delivered the welcome address, in which he noted that the patients will now receive unrivaled treatment in Uzbekistan after the successful opening of the new center.

The speakers include A. Sidikov, head of Foreign Economic Activity Department of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan and F. Yu. Abdurakhimova, deputy governor of Tashkent and the chairperson of City Women's Council (read more here).
