AUCC Forum for Expansion of U.S.-Uzbekistan Business Relations: Recognizing commercial successes and business partnerships

The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) held the 2015 U.S.-Uzbekistan Annual Business Forum at the Pavilion room of the RRB/ITC. The forum celebrated the chamber's 22nd anniversary and its commercial successes by prominently featuring the member-companies which included: The Boeing Company; Caterpillar, Inc.; CNH Industrial; The Coca-Cola Company; FMN International, Inc.; General Electric; General Motors Company; Honeywell; Lockheed Martin; Nukem, Inc.; Rio Tinto; Solar Turbines (A Caterpillar Company); Sustainment Solutions Inc.; White and Case LLP and Zeppelin International AG (authorized Caterpillar Distributor).

The ceremony commenced with a keynote address by AUCC Chairperson Carolyn Lamm. Her welcome remarks were built on U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt's famous speech "The Man in the Arena." Lamm stressed the importance of the AUCC members for being "truly the doers with great devotions, driven by a worthy cause," referring to the peoples of Uzbekistan and the U.S. and their accomplishments toward improved business partnerships.

During the forum, the speakers called for stronger engagement in trade and investment opportunities and identified issues of commercial nature that could further advance bilateral cooperation. In their view, the forum was the best platform to declare their commitment to working on mutually beneficial business opportunities and economic growth.

Uzbekistan today is more than the largest market in Central Asia; it has a population of almost 30 million people. It is the country that has demonstrated stable and prosperous annual GDP growth of 8 percent, with a well-established infrastructure, a highly educated workforce and diversified economy.

The success of the event was in part a result of the generous support of sponsors including: Platinum Sponsor - General Electric; Gold Sponsor - The Coca-Cola Company; Silver Sponsors - The Boeing Company, Caterpillar, Inc., CNH Industrial, General Motors Company, Lockheed Martin and White and Case LLP; Bronze Sponsors - Cameco/Nukem, Inc. and FMN International, Inc.
