The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

AUCC President S. Nadherny on doing business in Uzbekistan
On June 30, 2016, AUCC President Steven T. Nadherny delivered official remarks at the event organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Washington, DC and the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce (UzCC). The event was led by Uzbek Ambassador Bakhtiyar Gulyamov. Chairman Alisher Shaykhov of the Uzbek Chamber of Commerce made a presentation about the business environment and commercial opportunities in Uzbekistan.
When highlighting shared institutional objectives of the AUCC and UzCC, President Nadherny noted significant progress made by the people of Uzbekistan in the World Bank's Doing Business Report by simplifying requirements for:
- Starting a Business: It was 64 in 2015 and 42 in 2016
- Registering a Property - 113 in 2015 and 87 in 2016
- Getting Credit - 105 in 2015 and 42 in 2016 and,
- Improving its overall rating from 103 in 2015 to 87 in 2016
The AUCC President also shared the views of CNH Industrial, a leading US investor in Uzbekistan, where he serves as the Vice-President for Government Affairs, on the local operating environment. Since 1994, CNH Industrial has been continuously assessing the country's investment environment, industrial diversification, development perspectives and export markets. In President Nadherny's view: "The attention of the Uzbek Government to the Doing Business' ratings is commendable. It indicates and reaffirms the country's commitment to market reforms and liberalization of the business environment. It also helps CNH Industrial deepen our cooperation with Uzbekistan. It allows for more investments in our four JVs, thus enhancing the production and service operations to bring maximum added value to the country."
On behalf of the AUCC membership, President Nadherny reiterated the chamber's commitment to Uzbekistan and interest in identifying "...beneficial solutions that will result in a stronger and more vibrant market economy of Uzbekistan. "Improving Uzbekistan's business environment is a journey and becoming a favorable destination for US investments and exports is what we, AUCC, can help the country with," concluded the AUCC President.
