The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

ADB to help prepare specialists for the textile industry of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 27 May, the “Uztextileprom” Association hosted a meeting with the mission of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) led by senior social sector specialist Xin Long.

Now the ADB is preparing a program of cooperation with Uzbekistan for 2020-2022. The parties discussed projects in the field of education, including in the textile industry in remote regions of the country.

The meeting addressed issues of cooperation to improve the quality of education. At the same time, the issues of prospective bilateral cooperation between the Association and the ADB were touched upon.

The Uzbek side presented the presentations of the textile and garment and knitwear industry of the republic, and also presented in detail the potential of domestic producers and the prospects for introducing business in Uzbekistan.

Following the meeting, preliminary agreements were reached with the Asian Development Bank on a loan to improve the quality of education in the textile industry.

At the same time, prior to the implementation of this project, ADB will monitor and examine what personnel is needed for the textile industry in Uzbekistan.
