The American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC) seeks to promote trade and investment ties, cultural exchanges and bonds of friendship between the United States of America and the Republic of Uzbekistan. In performing these functions, the AUCC places primary emphasis on serving the needs and interests of its members.

EBRD to expand its portfolio in Uzbekistan

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with EBRD President Sir Suma Chakrabarti on March 5, the president's press service said.

Priority areas of long-term cooperation were in focus of the discussions.

Sir Suma Chakrabarti expressed readiness of EBRD to continue a comprehensive support to the program of reforms in Uzbekistan and to significantly expand the partnership portfolio.

"A particular attention was paid to preparation and advancement of priority projects in modernization of infrastructure, development of banking sector, textile and other industries, small business initiatives," the press service said.

Uzbekistan and EBRD resumed partnership in 2017. A new country strategy and a roadmap were adopted since that time. The new investments reached $1.1 billion and are made in such areas as energy sector, heating and water supply, communications, construction of roads and dwelling.

In addition to the office in Tashkent, EBRD opened another office in Andizhan and plans to open one more in Urgench before the end of the year.
