Uzbek business switches to "force majeure" policy

The government of Uzbekistan has instituted a force majeure policy for businesses in case of failure to fulfill contracts as a result of the Coronavirus spread.

The government of Uzbekistan has instituted a force majeure policy for businesses in case of failure to fulfill contracts as a result of the Coronavirus spread.

In order to mitigate the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic and global crisis, on the national economy, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade has been instructed to issue force majeure certificates to business entities upon request. The process of obtaining a certificate takes one day (if force majeure is proven to be associated with coronavirus).
