IMF: Central Asia's revenues from migrant workers' remittances to increase by another 13% in 2012

http://caspionet.kz/eng of 4/24/2012 - Oil and gas-exporting countries have benefited from the high oil prices and the rest of the countries benefited from the fact that despite the economic slowdown in Europe, the situation in Russia, which they are very closely related to in terms of remittances from migrant workers, is quite good, as a result of which remittances to these countries grew by about 20% last year.

The growth of remittances from migrant workers to the Central Asian countries is projected at 13% in 2012, according to CA-NEWS citing the report of the International Monetary Fund. According to the IMF forecast, Kazakhstan's economic growth will be at 5.9% in 2012. This figure will reach 5% in Kyrgyzstan, 6% in Tajikistan, and 7% in both Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
