Petrofac to study opportunity to increase oil mining in Uzbekistan
British company Petrofac will study opportunity to increase oil mining at the fields in Uzbekistan, which were used for a long time.
RIA Novosti reported quoting source, close to the company, the delegation of Petrofac will visit Uzbekistan in March 2014. During the visit, the representatives of the company is planning to discuss perspectives of joint projects with the Uzbek side.
The agency said that Petrofac is planning to assess fields and prepare proposals on long-term improvement of developing and mining within possible contract on increasing oil mining at the used fields.
Earlier, Uzbekneftegaz said it is planning to direct US$235 million in 2012-2020 to increase oil mining at the fields, used in Uzbekistan. The company is planning to implement a programme for deep drilling of about 100 objects with participation of foreign companies. The programme will help to additionally mine up to 300,000 tonnes of oil a year.
